Originally established in 1966 as a private school, Tung Fang Design University (TF) earned its current name in 2017, but is often referred to by its previous name, Tung Fang Design Institute. As a smaller university, TF is committed to offering a personalized and well-rounded education, with a unique specialty in arts and design studies. The school also offers programs and courses in engineering, business and management. Over 3000 students are currently enrolled at TF, with a growing number being international exchange and summer program students.

Kaohsiung is a port city located in the southern part of Taiwan and offers close access to the sea and city life. To get the best possible view of the city, travelers are encouraged to visit the 85 Sky Tower Observation Deck, which is the tallest building in Kaohsiung. For a relaxing beach day, take advantage of the 5-minute boat ride from Pier 2 to Cijin Island. During the evening, visit Lotus Lake then take a short walk to Ruifeng Night Market where you can enjoy local treats like stone-roasted chicken, takoyaki balls, sweet potato balls, angel fried chicken, and of course, bubble tea.
